Chelsea have accepted a £12m deal from Premier League rivals Arsenal for Italian midfielder Jorginho.
Jorginho is in the last six months of his deal at Stamford Bridge after moving from Napoli to Chelsea in 2014.
Before signing an 18-month deal with an additional year's option, the 31-year-old will now undergo a medical.
After having two bids for Moises Caicedo rejected by Brighton, the Gunners shifted their focus on Jorginho.
Brighton said Caicedo is not for sale, and it seems more and more probable that the Ecuadorian midfielder will stay with the team after the deadline.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have loaned out their winger Marquinhos to Norwich.
Jorginho is set to be Arsenal's third incoming player of the January transfer window after the club acquired Leandro Trossard of Belgium from Brighton for £21 million and Poland's Jakub Kiwior from Spezia for £17.6m.
The team led by Mikel Arteta has a game in hand over the teams directly below them and leads the Premier League by five points.
In 213 games with Chelsea, Jorginho has scored 29 goals and helped the team win the Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.
